Konami's announcement places the story "over two decades after the events of Castlevania III: Dracula's Curse and the recent animated show."[1] Konami does not say more about how it connects to the animated series or to other games on the pages we checked.
Who is Rose Belmont?
- "A new protagonist who bears Dracula's curse in her right arm."[3]
- A young vampire hunter who "wields a variety of weapons in addition to her whip".[3] Her whip is the Vampire Killer.[2]
- PlayStation Blog's preview says she is "burdened with guilt over her mother's death". The writer saw her tarot deck and "the fiery red curse creeping from her elbow to hand" as visual signs of that, and says both matter more as the game goes on.[4]
Can you play as Trevor?
Konami describes Trevor going into Paris with Rose. Rose is called "a new protagonist", and Konami's site says the game "depicts the growth of Rose Belmont".[3][2] None of the official pages we checked says Trevor is playable. Until Konami or reviews say otherwise, expect to play as Rose.
