Belmont's Curse Midnight Edition vs Standard: $39.99 vs $29.99, and What the Extra $10 Buys

Editions Last reviewed: Oct 7, 2026

Quick answer

On the US Steam store (checked October 7, 2026), the Standard Edition costs $29.99 and the Midnight Edition costs $39.99.[1] For the extra $10 (our calculation), the Midnight Edition adds:[2]

  • the Digital Sound & Art Gallery (a separate app with music and over 100 artworks)
  • the Trevor Style Costume
  • the Sypha Style Costume
  • Family's Grace, a Relic

Whichever edition you buy, pre-ordering or buying early adds the Alucard Style Costume for Rose.[3]

What is in the Digital Sound & Art Gallery?

  • Music: "Features 71 tracks from the title", according to Konami's June 8 announcement.[3] Konami's product page lists the tracks, from "Bloodbound" to "Curse Broken - Extended".[2]
  • Art: "over 100 pieces of artwork, including concept art and sketches from the production process."[2]
  • It is "a separate application from the main game."[2] On Nintendo's store it is also listed as its own item.[4]

Is any bonus worth more than looks?

Three of the four bonuses are costumes for Rose: Trevor Style, Sypha Style and Alucard Style.[2][3] Family's Grace is the only in-game item that is a Relic.[2] In this game, Relics "trigger powerful effects through both offense and defense".[5] Konami has not said what Family's Grace does on the pages we checked, so we can't tell you yet whether it changes the early game. We will add its effect after launch.

SteelBook, tarot card and collector's editions

  • Pre-ordering or buying early the physical Midnight Edition at select EMEA retailers adds a Castlevania: Belmont's Curse SteelBook. Some EMEA retailers also offer a premium tarot card of Rose Belmont with art by Katsuya Terada. Konami tells buyers to check with local retailers for stock.[3]
  • Konami's pages list only two editions, Standard and Midnight. We found no "Collector's Edition" on the official pages we checked.[2][3]

Which one should you buy?

  • You only want to play: Standard. Both editions contain the same main game; Midnight adds a gallery app, two costumes and one Relic.[2]
  • You want the soundtrack, the art gallery or the costumes: Midnight, +$10 on Steam.[1]
  • You want a box on the shelf: physical Midnight Edition, but it still needs an online download.[2]
