Castlevania: Belmont's Curse Guides is an independent, read-only guide website. You do not need an account, and we do not ask you to submit personal information to read any page.
What We Collect
Server logs. Our hosting provider may keep standard technical logs (such as IP address, time of request, and requested URL) for security and reliability.
Email. If you email us, we receive your email address and message and use them only to reply to you.
Analytics
Google Analytics 4 (only if you allow analytics). Shows us which guides are read and how visitors find the site. It uses cookies (_ga, _ga_*) and collects pages viewed, approximate location (country/city level), device and browser type, and the referring website. We use it only to improve the guides and do not use it for advertising. See How Google uses information from sites that use its services.
Until you allow analytics, none of the tools above is loaded, and they never run on preview copies of this site.
Cloudflare Web Analytics. This site is hosted on Cloudflare, which may count visits and measure page load performance with Cloudflare Web Analytics. It does not use cookies or local storage. See the Cloudflare Privacy Policy.
Advertising
Guide pages show one clearly labeled native ad block from Adsterra, below the answer. The About, Privacy and Contact pages never show ads. Adsterra and the advertisers and ad partners it works with may place and read cookies on your browser, or use web beacons, your IP address and device and browser information, to show ads, limit how often you see the same ad, measure ad performance and detect fraud. If you visit from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland (or we cannot tell where you are), the ad script is only loaded after you allow advertising. Elsewhere, ads load by default and you can switch them off at any time with Reject all, or by unticking Advertising in Cookie Settings; the ad script is then no longer loaded on this site.
To check that the ad block works, guide pages also send a few empty requests to this site itself (for example "the ad script loaded" or "the ad script was blocked"). They carry no cookie, identifier or personal data; we only look at daily totals per country.
Cookies and Your Choices
The first time you visit, a banner asks for your choice (Reject all, Choose, or Accept all). Your choice is saved in your browser's local storage under gg_consent so we don't ask on every page; it is not sent to us.
You can change or withdraw your choice at any time: open Cookie Settings (also linked at the bottom of every page). When you withdraw, the page reloads without those scripts and we delete the analytics cookies this site set. Cookies that third parties set on their own domains can be deleted in your browser settings, and you can block cookies there too. You can also use the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
