Belmont's Curse Demo: 4 Platforms, Save Transfer Rules and What Preview Players Found

Demo Last reviewed: Oct 7, 2026

Quick answer

The free demo came out on October 1, 2026 on PS5, Nintendo Switch, Xbox Series X|S and Steam.[1] It lets you play "the early stages of the game", and your progress carries over to the full game on October 15. There are conditions, listed in the checklist below.[1]

Save transfer checklist (do this before October 15)

Konami lists five conditions.[1] Here they are as a to-do list:

  1. Play the full game on the same platform as the demo.
  2. Use the same account (PSN, Xbox, Nintendo or Steam).
  3. Don't delete the demo save. Konami says it "must be retained in order to transfer progress."
  4. Update the full game to the latest version before you transfer.
  5. Expect gaps: "Certain features and content may be restricted in the demo version."

Konami's notes do not mention moving a save between different platforms. Following rules 1 and 2, a PS5 demo save goes to the PS5 full game, not to Steam. Switch 2 owners play the Switch version (details).

What is in the public demo

WorthPlaying (Chris "Atom" DeAngelus, October 5) played the public demo and describes it as "short and sweet".[2] What it found:

What Detail in the demo
Starting kit A sword, a dodge, and "a few limited healing potions that recover at the game's various save points"[2]
Arcana "The demo features two: The Cursed and The Fallen."[2]
The Cursed Shoots "a deadly fireball from her hand". It costs MP, which you refill by hitting enemies with the sword[2]
The Fallen's Arcana Throws a cross that comes back like a boomerang. An upgrade lets you "toss two at once"[2]
Upgrading Arcana Using a spell in combat completes challenges that earn tokens. One upgrade gives "a larger fireball that knocks back enemies"[2]
After the first boss Beating The Fallen gives Rose an ethereal whip. It "can't be used for attacking directly", but it grapples enemies and objects to launch her forward. The demo ends a short time after you get it[2]
Secrets "Secrets and items you can return to get once you've unlocked new abilities"[2]

So if you are hunting for hidden items, beat The Fallen first: WorthPlaying says the second part of the demo "is full of gimmicks that use the whip".[2]

What preview builds showed

Konami's character page names The Fallen as "the first threat Rose encounters in the sewers."[3] Two earlier previews played preview builds, which may differ from the public demo:

  • The Fallen and the Holy Cross. RPGFan's TGS 2026 preview (Matt Wardell) says The Fallen used "the spinning holy cross weapon". After the win, Rose absorbed him into an Arcana card and took the holy cross as a magic attack.[4] PlayStation Blog says the same: the Holy Cross "it's yours once you've 'tamed' him."[5]
  • A door that needs more bosses. RPGFan reached "a massive magical door" that needed "the essence of two more bosses".[4]
  • Mana. Magic attacks use mana. RPGFan says you restore it "by damaging enemies with standard attacks".[4] PlayStation Blog says mana is used for spells and for healing.[5]
  • Weapons and relics. RPGFan tried the Cestus gauntlets: "There are seven weapons available in the game, as well as three out of dozens of equippable relics."[4] PlayStation Blog found the Crypt Key relic, which "fully restored Rose's health and mana whenever she opened a chest."[5]
  • Secrets. PlayStation Blog describes a "massive map with destructible secret walls" and areas that stay closed "until you gain a certain skill".[5]

The demo's "secret weapon"

Players on Reddit and YouTube talk about a hidden weapon in the demo. We have not found a written, named source with the exact route that we could check, so we don't give one here. Videos and forum posts tell us what players ask about. They are not our sources for facts.

What the sources above support: break suspicious walls, get the whip grapple from The Fallen, and come back to blocked areas when you get a new skill.[5][2] We will add a step-by-step route once a source we can cite publishes one.

Does the demo end?

Konami's announcement gives no end date for the demo.[1]
